Our Mission in Housing
The mission of the residence halls at Eastern Kentucky University is
to provide a living/learning environment, which promotes the development
and well being of students living in the residence halls.
The residence halls are a vital component to the overall
living/learning experience of the university. Our division is committed
to providing quality housing at affordable prices with activities and
opportunities that will enhance the student’s overall collegiate
experience. Hall staff responsibilities include the day-to-day operation
of the halls, community development within the hall, as well as the enforcement
of university policies.
Our basic belief is that a student’s development
and education is influenced as much, if not more, by his/her living environment
as by his/her classroom experience. While residents have the ultimate
responsibility for their own development, the residence hall staff is
responsible for providing the opportunity and the environment for a positive
living/learning experience.
